Meet Our Optical Team

 
Lorie started her optical career in 1988 and has been a licensed optician since 1990. In 1994, Lorie began her journey in optical retail management. Her focus since then has been to develop herself and the leaders around her to far surpass organizational expectations as well as those of their patients. Her goal is to create a memorable experience for you by ensuring you find the perfect eyewear. She wants you to see great and look amazing! Most importantly, she wants you to become our patient for life. In her free time, Lorie loves cycling, hiking, and traveling.

Optical Manager, ABO&NCLE Certified Optician
George began his optical experience in 2012 working as both a lab optician and frame stylist in a national optical chain.  As an optician, he appreciates getting to know a patient’s needs and wants and being able to exceed those requests. In this way, he hopes to build a continuing relationship his patients can appreciate and come back to. He loves SALT. Optics eyewear for their California style and John Varvatos eyewear for their sturdy fit and finish. He is currently also a student, earning his Bachelors Degree in Psychology. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, working out, and enjoying the company of his friends and family.

Mario was born and grew up in Bakersfield. He has 13 years of optical experience starting his career in 2003. He is committed and strives in his belief in providing the best possible customer service to patients here at Ignite Eye Care. His goal is to help each patient find the perfect fit for all their eyewear needs. Mario on his spare time collects Marvel X-Men comic books, enjoys traveling to Las Vegas to shop and sight see, listening to music and spending time with his family, friends and dog.

Stephanie began her optical experience in 2014 as a receptionist for a private Optometric practice in Hanford, CA. She was a quick learner and worked her way to becoming an optican. Stephanie enjoys keeping her knowledge up to date and thrives to provide her patients with the best quality service and products. She loves to assist patients in finding eyewear that best suits their specific needs. When Stephanie is not working she enjoys spending time with her son and together they enjoy hiking, traveling and fun times with their family!

Markie has been working as an optician since 2015 and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. His passion is to create joyful experiences with every person by honoring who they are along with their needs and desires, both inside and outside of work. He is proud to have been born and raised in the beautiful city of Bakersfield. In his spare time he composes music, hikes and shares life with both friends and family.
Markie Hernandez
ABO Certified Optician

Brandie has over 16 years experience in the optical industry here in Bakersfield. She joined our practice when we established the business in 2012 and has worn many hats here at our office. She is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. She keeps her optical knowledge up-to-date by attending continuing education courses on the regular. Brandie is currently in a role which allows her to dedicate more time to her young children’s extra-curricular activities, such as cub scouts and dancing. She is on a mission to complete a huge bucket list of adventures which includes: visiting many travel destinations, hiking, swimming with stingrays, zip lining, running in several fun races, learning to play pickleball, river tubing, learning to fish, learning to target shoot, discovering new recipes her family will enjoy, riding in a hot air balloon and lots of camping. Brandie joined Ignite Eye Care in 2012 when our practice was first established. She is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. Brandie has 15 years experience fitting spectacles in Bakersfield. She loves her career and keeps her knowledge up-to-date by attending continuing education courses. Brandie is a scout mom and dance mom. Outside of work and children’s activities she loves traveling with and spending time with her family.

Michelle was born in New York but grew up in Bakersfield. Michelle is a frame fashionista! Creating the perfect look that will work with your lifestyle is her area of expertise. Michelle enjoys creating meaningful experiences where passion and purpose come together. Michelle loves SALT. Optics eyewear because of their silky and lightweight feel. She also loves John Varvatos eyewear due to their style and rock solid feel. Michelle enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Melissa has a sense of humor second to none with a brightness to fill the room. She has been in the optical industry for 5 years. She takes pride in finding the perfect product to not only accentuate your appearance but most importantly to aid you in the gift of sight. She uses her analytical talent to determine which frames are most stylish and efficient in fitting your lifestyle. Outside of the office, Melissa is a baker extraordinaire. She can whip up a batch of cupcakes to blow your fungiform papillae, sweet sensors out of this world. If she is not hanging out with her son Noah and dogs Charlie and Belle, she can be found at the gym rocking out to some music on the treadmill. Let her take you on a tour through the office and from the moment you walk in, to the moment you decide on the best product, you will be dazzled by her knowledge and sincerity as she ushers you into a world of vibrant vision.
Melissa Rubio
Optician
James started as a lab technician at the beginning of 2016 at Lenscrafters. He was fascinated by how much substance there is to the optical world as well as how much work goes into making corrective lenses that help millions of people see around the world. Since becoming a lab technician, James has worked to understand the different aspects of the optical field and loves the rewarding feeling of being able to fix, repair and produce eyewear for every patient. After joining the Ignite Eye Care team, James grew to appreciate the craftsmanship of Matsuda eyewear and is stunned by the vibrant colors of Etnia Barcalona eyewear. He is also acquiring a degree in Computer Science and enjoys modifying his 2007 Civic SI in his free time.

Agnes has been part of the Ignite Eye Care family since 2017. She was born in Bakersfield and grew up in Delano. After high school, she spent 9 years living in L.A. from which she became an optical school graduate in 1991, and started her optical career. Agnes is passionate about helping find patients their perfect fit and loves fun and colorful eyewear. There is no spare time for Agnes, and she is not a slow down and stop kind of person. She is a dance and cheer mom for her 2 daughters and enjoys spending her free time with her husband. Agnes helps coordinate and sing in church choir and plays the piano as much as she can. Agnes prides herself in her Filipino-American background as a Cultural dancer and also dances for the Delano Line Dancers.

Federico was born in the Los Angeles area and grew up in Tulare, CA.  Federico comes from a large family, being number five of ten children. He loves spending time with his son. Federico’s future goals include getting a college degree in Business and traveling more. He would love to travel to Paris, Miami and Hawaii in the future.
